How are you, the reader, doing today? Allow me to properly introduce myself. My name is Kam Williams. I am 22 years old, and although I am a young adult, I have quite the imagination. This led me to writing fiction novels, in which case I am currently remastering one on this platform, (My novels may not be for the faint of heart, as they may contain NSFW content, so be forewarned). My imagination has also led me to form my own opinions outside of the norm. Having said that, let's get down to business.

So I went to Facebook suggesting what to write about, giving people the go to ask away on whatever their hearts desired. One person, who will remain anonymous on Vocal, started off by asking this:

"What do you think of the phenomenon of LGBT Fiscally Conservatives that identity themselves as Republican, Libertarian, or Independent?"

Now, I wrote about something similar to this on Facebook a while back, but it was in regards to my stance of the LGBT community as a whole. This was around the time when gay marriage was being legalized, but in light of California being the first state to recognize a third gender, I might find that post and publish it on here. But I digress.

When you hear that someone is part of the LGBT community, what would you normally think of that person in a political aspect? Would you normally think that they were Left Wing Democrat? Most likely. But what about Libertarian? What about Conservative Republican? What about Independent? You may think of that to be phenomenal, correct? What if I told you that it's not as uncommon as you would probably think?

Shocker, huh? Not really. It's not that it's uncommon. It's just that people were led to believe that you can only think one certain way. All the while, we hear about the LGBT community being left wing democratic, but not often do you hear an opinion from someone like Blaire White, who is transgender, or James Merse, who is openly gay, both whom often politically engage on behalf of the Republican party (I personally know quite a few people that are openly bisexual, gay, and pansexual, and they don't identify with the Democratic Party. In fact, they believe a lot of the current views of the Democratic Party to be idiotic.) Normally you wouldn't care to listen to them because it doesn't fit the status quo, so to say.

We're often told that anyone who is Republican or Conservative is in support of preserving an older way of life, being pro God, pro 2nd Amendment, anti abortion, anti LGBT, anti immigration, and anti BLM, and anyone else who thinks otherwise is a cop hating, military hating, Clinton loving, SJW liberal snowflake, who is offended at everything and hates America. On the latter, we're often told that anyone who is Liberal or Democrat is the exact opposite, being anti God, anti 2nd Amendment, pro abortion, pro LGBT, pro immigration, and pro BLM, and anyone who thinks otherwise is a gun toting, inbred, KKK, Trump supporting, racist bigoted Nazi, and secretly hates America. But what about the gray area?

We have more people that are in favor of that gray area than you would think. The kind of people that can have a reasonable debate and still shake hands with each other afterwards. The kind of people that know how to find a common ground. The kind of people that know how to think for themselves, rather than let some specific political party dictate how they think. The kind of people that Benjamin Franklin would most likely share wine with and have as his guests (provided they don't stay for more than three days. If you don't understand that, it's an inside joke.) The only problem is that far too often, those kind of people are the ones that are silenced the most by both parties, whether in the voting booth or out in the real world.

These kind of people are normally labelled as a hypocrite in a lot of cases, or people claim that they don't know which side of "the fence" to be on. But what if said fence is at an intersection, giving you more than only 2 sides to be on? Better yet, what if it was a box with 2 sides inside of it, and the the ones people claim to be in the middle are actually the ones thinking outside that box?

Because of this, I often ask, "Whatever happened to disambiguation?" Whatever happened to Freedom of Choice? That does fall under the First Amendment, does it not? It may not directly say Freedom of Choice, but does Freedom of Speech allow you to make your own opinion heard?

So what do I think of the phenomenon of LGBT Fiscally Conservatives that identity themselves as Republican, Libertarian, or Independent? My simple answer to that is this: They have been around the whole time. It's not like they're some pot of gold at the end of a rainbow (no pun intended.) They're not some mythical creature like a Unicorn or the Loch Ness Monster. They're people like you and me, with opinions like you and me. What should be asked is, how come are they often silenced abruptly by both parties? How come both sides turn their noses at them? Is forming your own opinion that awful? Maybe it's just that nobody is ready to hear them out and reject the status quo.

That's my first opinion blog. Hope you enjoyed the read. If you have something different in mind, I would love to hear about it. I want to know your opinion on the question that was asked. If you have anything you want to ask, then ask away. I will give my own personal opinion based on what I know. Take care.
