No More War

So many wars, even world wars, and yet still more fighting. Death of millions through a tsunami of genocide, yet still more fighting.

You think by now that people could coexist, and we could live in a world of peace, but we still have idiotic ideologies and those willing to take their ancient texts as current law. We have seen an increase in those willing to put their lives in mortal danger, but not only that, they hold no consequence for the people they murder.

We also see heads of countries so adept at inflexibility and compromise that they strut around with their chest on show, using destructive weapons as their peacock feathers.

So much already destroyed, so much history never to be seen again, yet they continue to develop and invent weapons. They say they are to defend their lands but truthfully they are contraptions that only do one thing—cause death. They are sold throughout the world to the highest bidders, no care for what they might be used for, sold with just the one thing in mind: “profit.”

After all the wars, the countless murders, and atrocities caused, you'd think mankind would have learned and realised this is not the way. But nobody will throw down their arms, because others are ready to take from those who would use such a valiant response to non violence. They would see this as a weakness to overthrow and control that country's assets.

If you were to look at the masses of people in the world that want peace, these people far outweigh those who want war, yet those who want peace do not have arms, do not have the power to rise up and gain leverage over those that do. Greed is at the forefront of most conflict—greed with money, greed of power, and greed of belief. Yet those that rule do not care for their fellow man. They would rather hold this leverage over us, pushing us to the limit and destroying the moral fiber of society as a whole.

I have seen death and mass destruction. I have watched the news, seen the children's tears as bombs go off overhead, yet no world leaders or terrorists seem to care. Imagine we could put all those who cause such carnage in a building, those world leaders, those who use terror as a means to inflict fear on us all. How many would have the guts to fight against each other? How many would try their best to act diplomatically without armed forces behind them? How many would cower in a corner?

It is easy to rule and inflict pain on others when you are not the one inflicting that pain directly. This world should be ashamed allowing warlords and those that rule to use our money and people as their fodder for death. But is this due to our desensitisation? Is it our fault for allowing the media to actively condemn others' violence yet hold our own country's endeavours up on high?

The only good thing that is happening is that social media is allowing freedom of speech, yet at this very moment those social media magnates with governments in tow are attempting to silence our voices. They do not want us finding out the very deeds of terror that they inflict on others. They do not want us rising up to say no more. They want us to remain as sheep following their rules, allowing our taxes to be used to buy weapons that murder, and to allow their ideology to be thrown out on every news network, controlling the minds of each and every one of us.

Our only hope is that humanity stands tall and condemns the actions of the few and hold regard for the many.

It is not about invading a country that is doing wrong or supplying a country weapons to hurt another. It is about the people in those countries standing up to say no more.
