"We will vote you out!"

Dear Donald, listen up,

It was the evening of December 19th, 2016 when the world went silent.

Have you ever experienced a time in your life where your heart felt like it was racing 80mph and then time stopped for a brief moment? Well, that is exactly what it felt like during the final hour of the election. What am I concerned about with your presidency? OUR people! The minorities, people of color, LGBTQIA, disabled people, elderly, women, undocumented civilians, and many more of us. This is my concern.

Your bigotry really showed when you became president. It was as if all of the prejudice came out of hiding after all of these years. People of our nation telling others to "go back to their country, you don't belong here," judging women of religion because they choose to wear a hijab? Other people physically assaulting civilians who choose to practice their religion peacefully? WHAT IS THIS BEHAVIOR?

You have been in office for 429 days (one year and 64 months). According to Jessica Tholmer from Hellogiggles.com, "[you] have spent 135 days at Trump Properties instead of the white house." Yes, lets just play golf and relax while the world is currently in a big ball of chaos. With all due respect, you too deserve down time, but at least show concern for our country. It's been 429 days and there are still worldwide protests and riots since you've become president.

Let me fast forward to today, Donald.

On February 14th, 2018, there was a school shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School. 17 high school students died and 17 students were wounded, all because of some young adult had access to an AR-15 style semi-automatic rile. He was charged with 17 counts of first-degree murder and 17 counts of attempted first-degree murder. The shooter's name was Nicolas Cruz, 19, a former student of Stonemason Douglas High School. Cruz has had a troubled past leading up to his arrest for the shooting. Not to mention, Cruz was under observation from various psychologists and psychiatrists. They believed he should have been admitted into a psychiatric institution, but the institution believed he was fine and did not belong there.

There were various classmates and family friends that told the media Cruz talked about wanting to be a professional school shooter. WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN A TIP to the public?! What I don't understand is why we sell firearms to people who have emotionallydisturbed behaviors. How is it that people who are on probation and or parole "can't own a gun" all while people who have various emotionally disturbed behaviors do? The NRA and our president have to do something about this. I just cannot wrap my head around it.

This issue led to nationwide protests.

March For Our Lives - 3/24/18

"Don't Shoot", "Never Again".

March 24th, 2018 was a nationwide protest called "March For Our Lives," an anti-gun rally to promote awareness over gun violence. Hundreds and thousands of people went to Los Angeles and Washington D.C. for this March just to spread awareness of gun violence and gun-control. Young teenagers were giving speeches about their experience of gun violence they have encountered in their lives. Let me just say, the speeches had me sobbing!

The stories that these young teenagers gave were empowering. The things that they have encountered are heinous. This may be subjective of me. I do not stand with violence, especially when children are involved. Donald, children are going to school to LEARN, not go to duck and cover and then FEAR for their lives and in high hopes, have their "qualified teachers" protect them by carrying a firearm?

Donald, don't you see the issues arising? Innocent children and adults are dying by the hand of a gun. When you heard about the what happened at Stoneman Douglas High School, all you gave was your condolences and said that qualified teachers will take training courses to carry firearms. The day of the March For Our Lives rally, you spent the weekend in Mar-a-Lago resort without commenting on the protest that was occurring. Hours go by and still no response from our president of the United States? Oh wait, someone did make a comment. It was the Whitehouse Spokeswoman, Lindsey Walters, applauding the protesters for standing against gun control... (enter cricket sounds here). Thanks, Donald. Now we know, it takes a protest from our hurting civilians of the nation in order to get the message across.

Donald, take this message as you will. November will be here soon and this Generation will vote everyone OUT. We need gun control. We need to not deport people just because one is undocumented and trying to make a living for their families. What WE need is to have a future!

We look forward to change.
