China's U Turn to Allow Couples to Have Three Children Wouldn't Amount to Much (sic)
China announced yesterday that it would now permit couples to have three children, up from the two that it specified in 2015, and a marked departure from its longstanding One Child Policy. While the One Child Policy was an attempt to slow down the burgeoning population in the 1950s after the Revolution, and was widely seen as draconian and severe, it was successful in preventing a Demographic Explosion that would have spelled much trouble for a country that was already the most populous in the world.

Duh! That’s what we say when something should be obvious. It turns out, information warfare is at the heart of cybersecurity. But the cybersecurity community and I missed it. This Computer Weekly article from Dec. 23, 2020 brought it into focus. And the US Capitol fiasco on Jan. 6, 2021 vaulted information warfare to the top of the priority list. We need a solution and root cause analysis. Fast.

Nawal ImranPublished 3 years ago in The SwampHave you ever ridden the Swing Ride at the amusement park
Have you ever ridden the swing ride at the amusement park? You know the one that when it starts up it doesn't swing back and forth but spins you around and around, higher and higher, faster and faster. You come off it dizzy, wobbly legs that can't keep you upright, head paining and loopy, nausea roiling.
Unethical Tax Breaks and a Broken Economic System
Perfection only exists in theory, but that doesn’t mean we can’t strive for better. Most Americans, especially young people, believe our economic system is broken—and that the brokenness transcends political parties. While it might be for different reasons, members of both the right and the left take issue with the massive corporations that dominate our lives. Of course, to achieve anything productive, you would have to convince them to stop hating each other long enough to talk about it. I could easily spend hours about the realigning of Democrat’s and Republican’s bases and the fact that most politicians have no clue it is happening. But that is not my intent with this article. My intent is to make a point about the America economic system, specifically tax breaks.

I’m sold. A sitting member of Congress would be a good thing to own. I could get them to sponsor bills I wanted, vote on ones I agree with, and give me tours of the Capitol so that I might be awed by Federal splendor. They could get one of my children into West Point or Annapolis, but those are just the minor perks. The big deal is the lawmaking.

Iria Vasquez-PaezPublished 3 years ago in The SwampFreedom is NOT Free!
Freedom is not Free. As told by a fighter in the 60’s Civil Rights Movement Freedom is not free. Many decades ago, I sat my seventeen-year-old body in the streets in front of my college campus. Praying that the moving cars would indeed halt and not crush my young body, I knew I was fighting for freedom. I also knew that there was a risk I had to take to gain this freedom.
