Is Donald Trump Going To Jail?

We can only hope

Insanity is the new normal, these days. Everyday there is a new juicy news story either about Trump, or members of his administration, colluding with Russia, to undermine Hillary Clinton's bid for the White House. Never before--as far as I'm aware--has a president of the United States come into the Oval House so ridden in scandal.

The Internet is rife with stories about The Donald's imminent impeachment. Why, it was reported, just a few days ago, that the city of Cambridge, Massachusetts voted on a resolution which would start impeachment proceedings against Mr. Trump. On February 21, it was also reported that the city of Richmond, California, was also for impeaching the orange-haired, psychotic Orangutan-in-Chief. On March 21st, California Democratic representative Maxine Waters also tweeted Mr. T.--no, not the cool one with the mohawk--a stern warning.

"Get ready for impeachment."

And finally yesterday, Joaquin Castro, a heavy from the House Intelligence Committee told Wolf Blitzer on "The Situation Room" that he believes multiple members of Trump's inner circle could soon be facing imprisonment.

"I wouldn't be surprised after all of that is said and done that some people end up in jail," Castro said.

In the interview, Castro brings out a salient point. One that has crossed my mind more than once and one that, unfortunately, I have never gotten down on paper.

"What you see with Trump’s campaign is this constant picking up of more and more people who have all these strong Russia connections and it’s amazing that in that relatively small campaign, that small circle so to speak, that you would have so many people with so many deep connections to Russia," said Castro.

Bingo! I thought, while watching the interview. This Castro fellow really doesn't mince words. Just why the hell are so many people in Trump's inner circle so beholden to Russia? Why does Trump praise an oppressive leader like Vladimir Putin over American presidents, like President Barack Obama, and others?

This whole thing, strangely enough, reads like one of those hackneyed Tom Clancy novels that do nothing but collect dust, year after year, on the bookshelves at the local Salvation Army. The Taking of a United States Presidency, the book might be titled.

Will Trump be imprisoned? I most certainly hope so. I imagine it would be a lot like the season finale of the sitcom, Seinfeld. Elaine, Jerry, George and Kramer are sitting in a jail cell--except, this time, it's Trump, Bannon, Kellyanne Conway and Sean Spicer.

Of course, in reality, men and women don't get locked in jail/prison cells together. But it's definitely the way I like to imagine it happening, in my reveries.
