Do People Realize We Are in Charge?

Part 1

The People as Servants

We have come to live in a world where we are beholden to the government.  It should not be this way, the government should be beholden to us, but we have seriously lost our way in this country.  Our leadership has become used to living off the people and expecting it.  The problem with this is they have become accustomed to living the high life and never having to be held accountable for anything.  Capital Hill comes and goes with their everyday lives and we are oblivious to the fact that is ruining the chances we have to ever have equality among the classes in this country.

There once was a time when anyone could work hard and achieve the things they always wanted for themselves and their families.  Sadly, those days have come to pass.  The days of when hard work pays off and anyone can move up in the world are gone!  They are gone because our illustrious leaders don't want competition. Therefore, they keep us down.  Our parents and our grandparents and the generations before them had the opportunity, and many of them took it.  Now the generations are taught to stay at home for as long as possible.  You shouldn't have to get your own insurance and pay your own bills, just because you are an adult!  It's not fair to be expected to survive on your own.  Meanwhile, the masses in charge go on running things unimpeded and we argue stupid things like who really won the coin toss at the game last night.

Have we all forgotten that we elect the leaders and we can just as easily remove them from office?  We seem to be scared of them now.  There was a time when we would simply remove an elected official from office because they did not do what they said they would.  Now we seem to be content with the lip service we receive at election time, and then they ignore us until they need us again.  Meanwhile, they pass increased business regulations so we can't start or run our businesses.  They increase taxes so we can't get ahead even we try, and they refuse to let the country use its own resources, which would make us all money, and bring the price of most things down for us.

Why?  It is really quite simple.  They want us to be broken so we never try to fight back!  I said it!  Fight back!  Not with weapons, but with ideologies and knowledge.  They know if we are made aware of what they really do behind closed doors, we would rise up and they would be gone, never to be seen again.  Now many would take that as a threat, but we are actually given that responsibility in the Constitution!  We the people are the ones that choose our government, and we the people can take it back.  It will take some work, but it can happen, and it needs to happen!  It needs to happen soon because we are maybe one or two generations away from losing all control.

With every passing generation that is taught to be docile and expect everything while working for nothing, we get closer to being a lost country.  Read a history book and see for yourself.  Rome, Greece, Russia, and even the UK have all gone through this.  Some learned, some repeated, and some disappeared forever!  My goal is not to teach but to enlighten and get you to see that we are in fact in charge and not the government.  The government was never set up to be the supreme ruling power.  It has always been the people that are supposed to rule.  “When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.” “Those that can give up essential liberty to gain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”  These quotes are from Benjamin Franklin.  James Madison stated, “It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood; if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man who knows what the law is today can guess what it will be tomorrow.”

What is the point, you may be asking.  The founding fathers of our great nation somehow knew this very thing would happen.  Whether they were perceptive of human nature back then, or whether they actually thought it might happen and got lucky is irrelevant.  The fact is that it has and is happening and we must stop it.  If we don't, we will go the same way as Rome and Greece.  Our elected leaders will raise your taxes and shut the government down leading to missed wages and benefits for millions of people while voting themselves a pay raise!  Think about that for one second.  Let that sink in.  Take the information and think about whether your government is really in it to be civil servants or tyrannical leaders who live off the people.  Our founding fathers never intended politics to be a profession.  Politics was never meant to be a job where you get rich.  It was meant to be a part-time job where you got to help.  When you make $174,000 a year and leave a millionaire after 6 years, there is a problem.  I understand $174,000 is not much when you have to live in two places, but again politicians were never meant to do it full time.

We need to realize that we are in control and not them.  Once we realize this, things will change drastically and rapidly in this country.  Once the political class realizes their free ride is over, they will conform to the way it is supposed to be done, or face the consequences.  If that doesn't work, there is always the Second Amendment.
